This is an in-depth guide on how audiences work for training campaigns and what options are available.
Fixed Audience:
In a fixed audience, you can choose exactly the users who will be included in the campaign. This list will not update as users are added to Phin. Any user who is removed from the platform or slept will no longer be assigned training courses.
Dynamic Audience:
In a dynamic audience, you choose a filter to specify users that will be included in the campaign. Any users who are added to your Phin tenant that match this filter will be included in the campaign.
Dynamic Audience Filter Types:
- Company Campaign: This will match all users in the company.
- Department Campaign: This will match all users who have a department name field matching the name chosen in the Audience Builder.
- Supervisor Campaign: This will match all users who have a supervisor email field matching the email chosen in the Audience Builder
- Group Campaign (Azure User Sync companies only): This will match all users in the specified Azure groups.
Notes:
For continuous campaigns, the audience can only be configured after creating the campaign. See this article for more info on that: https://www.phinsec.io/knowledge/how-to-configure-continuous-training-campaigns
For Onboarding training campaigns (https://www.phinsec.io/knowledge/onboarding-campaigns) the only audience type available is Dynamic and audiences cannot be edited after the campaign is created (as of release 3.1).
